Industrial
Engines

The range of on-road and off-road industrial engines originates from the experience acquired by VM Motori both in the industrial and automotive sector. An important characteristic of the VM engines is the compactness of the overall dimensions. The high power-to- weight ratio allows great flexibility of use, able to meet all required needs.

    MR504 – New 40CV Version

The MR504 engine is now available with a derated version with a power output of 40CV. This engine meets RCD II emissions requirements. In this version, torque is 150Nm at 1400 rpm. The new calibration makes the engine ideal for use in restricted areas where power is legally limited to 40CV such as protected marine areas.

For more details of this engine, including the main technical specifications, power curves, characteristics and basic bill of material, please consult the data sheet available on our website.

VM Marine Engines Compatible for HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) Fuel

VM’s MR504, MR704, MR706 and MR506 marine engines have now been added to the list of engines tested and approved for the use of HVO EN 15940 ecological fuel. The tests demonstrated that with HVO fuel there is a 20% reduction of PM emissions, 10% reduction of NOx and 2% reduction of CO2 emissions. Furthermore, HVO fuel has no impact on performance or reliability and can be used without requiring modifications to the engine or additional maintenance.

HVO fuel is an ecological and sustainable synthetic diesel which is produced mainly from renewable sources such as oils and vegetable fats. The hydrogenation process creates a high-quality paraffinic fuel which has a high cetane number (>70) and a pure composition. Its density is around 7% less than diesel making it more stable. Compared to traditional diesel fuel, HVO has a reduced aromatic and sulphur content while the H/C (hydrogen/carbon) ration is slightly higher. Additionally, it is not susceptible to bacterial growth therefore making it ideal for long storage. HVO fuel is particularly suitable for rigid climates where the high cetane number and low gelling point (-32°C) make it ideal for cold starts. It can be blended and used in any proportion with diesel which allows for ease of transition.
